Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Nico Selma brings over 15 years of experience to the entertainment industry as a Storyboard Supervisor, Animation Director, Visual Development Artist, and Comic Book Artist. He brings a cinematic and emotionally driven approach to his work, with a strong focus on visual clarity, staging, performance, and purposeful storytelling.
Currently, Nico serves as Storyboard Supervisor on Mafalda, the upcoming Netflix series directed by Academy Award winner Juan José Campanella. Drawing on his Argentine roots, he brings cultural authenticity and emotional depth to the project. Throughout his career, Nico has collaborated with renowned studios including Nickelodeon, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., Disney, Universal, and Dark Horse Comics, contributing to beloved productions such as The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish, Santiago of the Seas, Archibald’s Next Big Thing, and Vampirina, among others.
Nico began his artistic journey in traditional animation, working on the animated feature The Ark, followed by the commercially successful Una Película de Huevos franchise, which became one of Mexico’s highest-grossing film series and earned the prestigious Ariel Award for Best Animated Feature Film.
His work in comics includes contributions to the rebooted Tomb Raider series and the co-creation of the graphic novel S.H.O.O.T. First with writer Justin Aclin, both published by Dark Horse Comics.
Across feature films, television animation, and comics, Nico’s work is united by a strong visual language and a passion for character-driven storytelling.
When he is not bringing characters to life on screen or on the page, Nico enjoys kart racing and playing soccer. A die-hard supporter of Argentina’s Chacarita Juniors and an avid Messi fan, he is always ready for a lively conversation about the beautiful game. Nico currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children, where his passion for storytelling and creativity continues to drive his journey through the ever-evolving entertainment world.
